Wacky Science – Color Mixing Challenge February 14, 2011

This week in Wacky Science, the kids had a challenge: to create 24 unique colors by mixing combinations of the primary colors (red, yellow, and blue). We then named the new colors.

Wacky Science is every Wednesday at 5:00pm. Class content is intended for ages 7 and up, but younger children may attend with an adult.

Wacky Science : Recycled Jewelry Workshop April 21, 2010

Join us today from 5:00pm – 7:00pm for a Recycled Jewelry Workshop! We will make beautiful and creative accessories using recyclable materials. Ages 7+, younger children may attend if assisted by an adult.

Wacky Science: Baggie Biomes April 7, 2010

In Wacky Science this week, we will be making biomes! We will plant seeds in re-used plastic bottles, then place the bottle in a plastic baggie. The plastic baggie keeps the biome contained. Through our biomes, will learn about how water recycles itself through condensation, precipitation, and evaporation.

Wacky Science is on Wednesdays at 5pm for kids ages 7 and up.

 

Wacky Science: Clouds! March 24, 2010

This week in Wacky Science, we will be learning all about clouds and cloud formations. Then, we will make a guide to identifying cloud formations by painting with a fluffy mixture of shaving cream and glue!

Instructions: Mix 1 part glue with 1 part shaving cream and paint with it! The fluffy paint will dry in just a few hours.

Wacky Science : Penny Parachutes March 8, 2010

Let’s go fly a kite!This week in Wacky Science, we will be having a kite making workshop! We will learn the science behind kite flying and experiment with different kite shapes and materials. Then we will make our own kites to fly at home, at the park, or at the Austin Kite Festival.
